Steering Committee
The steering committee will provide strategic advice to the Australian Marine Mammal Centre (AMMC) on the development of a web enabled database that will be used to inform the conservation and management of marine mammal and human interactions in the Australian region.
The committee will provide guidance through:
- contributing to the development of data structures and definitions to ensure a consistent approach to data collection;
- contributing to the coordination and cross-jurisdictional linkages between government, researchers, managers, non-government organisations and industry;
- reviewing and participating in the development of documentation relevant to the database;
- providing ad hoc advice on new and emerging issues; and
- communicating the work of the Committee, and the AMMC to the broader community.
